Hello

Welcome to my blog :)

Connecting Classrooms

We are currently a part of "Connecting Classrooms". We have numerous letters from boys and girls from Levenmouth Academy and other surrounding primary schools. These written letters will be sent to one of four countries. 1- Ghana. 2- India. 3- Tanzania. 4- Senegal. The children from these countries will read these letters and send back a reply. As a result, children will have a pen pal. I have written a letter myself, and can't wait for a reply. I think that this is a great idea because, not only will you have friends in your own country, but you will have a friend from the other side of the world. These letters could also help you understand more about what it is like in other counties. Do they have nice schools? Does your pen pal work? What food do they eat? These are things that people want to find out about a new friend from a different country. You could find out more about Connecting Classrooms, in the Connecting Classrooms page on our website.

Update

9/11/2020

In the past few weeks we have counted how many trees in a certain area of bats wood were alive or dead and we have taken the results into account. We took a lot of pictures for Connecting Classrooms, which you can find on this website and i will post them shortly. This week is the last week of term, so we had some hot chocolate and tea. The bird has hatched and flown the nest.

The Website

30/10/2020

Unfortunately Mr Zuill couldn't be with us today because he is isolating at home. So today we worked on this very website. I worked on the Beaver Campaign, Katie and Sonny worked on their blogs and Finley worked on the Bats Wood banner. We tried our best to fill this website with as much information as possible. After working on the  Beaver Campaign, I worked on my blog as well.

Wildlife

11/9/2020

We dug up flat ground today to make it more safe for the wildlife and so it was easier to live in for them. We also placed rabbit shavings, or in other words rabbit poo, along the ground so it was safer to walk on. Afterwards we dug up some potatoes whilst getting stung by jaggy nettles like 100 times all over my legs. We took the potatoes to the home ec department so they can use them to cook. We found a pigeon in a tree laying on un-hatched eggs which was cute but I'm just happy that the bird didn't attack me when I was trying to take a picture of it 😂

Corona Virus Can't Stop Us!

We know that these are tough times, but the bats wood team are powering through it. We have been adding dams and homes for animals and insects, we have written letters to other countries (which are getting sent on Tuesday) and we have worked as a team the whole way through it. It is only me at Bats Wood this week, because a lot of people have to isolate, and a lot of people are choosing to isolate. I will be writing in this blog after Christmas, but I want to wish you and your families "A Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year".

Letters

We went through all of the letters for Connecting Classrooms so that we could post them away to one of the four countries (check my previous post for more information on what the four countries are). We checked the spelling and if the story made sense. Once we got though all of them, we made front covers for the letters. I made one that read " Hello From Scotland" and it had a loch ness monster going through the "Hello". I made the Scottish flag my background and had a thistle coming out of the side.
